v_kyr
Wenn I search for line endings via a regular expression search for newline (\n) characters, the search result list shows me \n\r as line endings, what's that? ☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan ☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.
walt.farrell
I think that's how Publisher shows a paragraph break. Old Bruce
"\n" new line... puts you down one line. "\r" return... puts you to the beginning of the line. Now I am here. Confusing and redundant in the modern world. I believe these are holdovers from the good old days when the graphic interface was a teletype printer. v_kyr
So it then probably meant as an Alinea sign indicator then, aka ¶ (Unicode U+00B6 pilcrow sign, HTML-Entity ¶), since on a Unix system (OSX) you usually only use NL and not CRNL as on Win systems. ☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan ☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.
