Combining separate lines together to make a shape

Recommended Posts

If I have 4 separate lines that visually form a shape, is there any way to convert them into one shape? Clicking Combine doesn't seem to work (see screenshots)

(The reason I did it this way was so I had an identical curved line on top and bottom (i.e. draw one curved line, then alt drag for a copy) —I'm very new to vector graphics, so tips on an easier way of doing this would also be welcome)

Thanks for any advice!

Use the node tool, select all the curves and select Action: Join Curves

Hi SamMN,
Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
Select all individual lines, change to the Node Tool and click the Join Curves button from the Action section. It's possible that after joining them the red node (and the other node below it) in the resulting shape haven't been closed/joined, so to close the shape completely drag it a little anywhere and immediately back over the other node below it to close the shape (make sure snapping is enabled - the magnet icon in the main toolbar).
