pragmaticleas
I might have accidentally selected a brush type in brushes studio while using the erase brush tool instead of the paint brush tool. Is there a way to get the original eraser back easily, or do I need to reinstall Affinity Designer every time I make such mistakes? Also, is there a brush type in brushes studio that resembles the original eraser? Any advice would be appreciated.
Staff Dan C Posted February 26, 2019 Staff Share Posted February 26, 2019 Hi pragmaticleas Unfortunately there's no way to reset tools or brushes currently, but this has been requested previously on the forums and is something our developers are looking into. In the meantime, if you select the Eraser brush, then navigate to the Brushes Studio and select the 5th Round Soft Brush (64px). Now click on 'More' in the context toolbar options and set your values as follows- Size 64pt, Hardness 0%, Flow 100%, Accumulation 100%, Spacing 15%, Rotation 0%, Shape 100%. This is the default settings for the Eraser Brush tool, I hope this helps! pragmaticleas
Hi Dan C, Thanks for your reply. I am not able to find the 5th round soft brush (64px). Do you know what category it’s under? I don’t see round soft brush as one. In the pixel persona, I see things like “pencils and charcoal“, “chalks and pastels” etc. only. Do I need to add a new category and brush and create a new round brush? If so, there are quite a few settings I’m not sure of. Please let me know. Edit: For now, I created a new round brush with the configuration you mentioned. Edited February 26, 2019 by pragmaticleas
Staff Dan C Posted February 27, 2019 Staff Share Posted February 27, 2019 No problem at all My sincerest apologies, I had Affinity Photo open and not Designer, the brush I was referring to is only available in Photo but as you have mentioned you've created a brush that has the same settings in Designer now!
