Hi.

I'm totally new to Affinity and my non-existent Photoshop skills ended at version 3. I have a ridiculously simple problem I need help with and just can't seem to get it to work:

I have a stock certificate in .pdf that reads the wrong amount of issued shares. 10000 instead of 100. If this had been photoshop, then I'd use the Marquee Selection Tool, copy some of the surround, paste it in and drag it over to cover the last two 00's, to make the 10000 read like 100. For some reason here, when I use the MST, paste it in and then use the Move Tool, the thing doesn't move. I get a blue box around it, but it doesn't budge. And if I open a new layer, then all I see is that selection, not the image behind it, making it impossible to line them up.

All I want it to do is copy and paste in the same layer (ideally), and make the pasted thing movable. That's it. Seems like it should be ludicrously simple, yet nothing I've tried works. Please help. And please talk to me like I was your 5 year old child - it's the only way I can understand. :D

Hi Stratobee and Welcome to the Forums,

Those steps should work.  The item not moving, it could be a locked layer, see if there is a padlock icon on the Layers Studio and click it, then try moving the item.  If it's still not working, save the file as a .afdesign or .afphoto file and upload it to our Dropbox here and i'll be able to take a look :)
