Affinity vs adobe

Recommended Posts

I used Adobe software for over 10 years.  Few months ago I made the switch to affinity. It took me a few weeks to make the change and feel really comfortabel using affinity.  After a longer period of using affinity I started missing some features and noticed some bugs which were very frustrating at times (one of them was the mem leak).

I now have the opportinty to switch my printing job into a graphics designer job for another company using Adobe software. So I installed some Adobe software to get that feel again, and I have to say. Affinity is just much better at everything. So you guys are doing a great job!

I love the UX and the more intuive approuch, it also looks and feels much better. Adobe has now become a pain to use and feels so outdated.

I would suggest putting more effort into debugging and adding in more features, which costs a lot of money, I know. But I would be willing to pay an anual €55 just to keep using all affinity programs and help further developement.

You guys have something great. Keep it up and make it shine.

If they add to the deal anything that barely would remember the word "subscription", even if being that low, half of the user base might fly away, lol... As a ton are here escaping from that very concept. Increasing the price per app, maybe, that could make sense, but imo, if it works for their business model at the current pricing, much better, as it is making finally pro software available to people in countries were warez was the only literal option.  And so, in many cases, it meant no possibility for building a business (or one-person freelancing) selling to foreign countries (which is a way for many to escape extreme poverty).  As 1$ in the first world is not the same than in less privileged countries... I don't have any stats of that (let alone in which countries do they sell) but I know quite some people from certain countries which find very hard to pay the prices of a lot of the current professional software. Or even just are FULLY unable to have an internet connection  all the year, or most of its months. Also, in my tests, Affinity demands less machine than most Adobe apps. This is another barrier for quite some people. (I know some which super outdated and under powered machine is having an integrated card that wouldn't do in any way with, say, a PS CC 2018 or 2019)

I agree, Affinity is an amazing suite.

I fully agree with your view, but I would like to push the devolopement faster and further. Needs money for that, I think the pricing per app is just right, leave that as it is. Very attractive price.  Perhaps just add a support option for people who want to contribute annualy.
