Color differences in all 5 Windows apps

Recommended Posts

Hi,
please, follow these steps to see the differences:

  1. Open any Windows app (if you have Mac please try on them, too);
  2. Open this image and make a duplicate layer;
  3. Apply "Multiply" to the upper layer;
  4. Apply 15 px "Gausian Blur"  and "Color Burn"  inside "Color Overlay" from "Layer Effects"

Repeat these steps to the other 4 apps.
What I got:

  1. Designer and Photo (retail versions) have the same results;
  2. Designer and Photo (beta versions) have the same results but different from the retail ones;
  3. Publisher has different results from all other 4 apps.

Is the Gaussian Blur also in the fx and what colour should the colour overlay be?

All the same here across 4 apps (don't have Pub). On Mac.
How about showing the differences you're getting? Have you checked the working color spaces are all the same?

@firstdefence Just pick a color... You're comparing you against you.
But if you want to compare to mine I used R115 G255 B255

@JimmyJack I'm getting all the same results as you including publisher, so I'll just add the publisher screen.

Publisher: RGB/8 sRGB

I asked for the colour to give a like for like comparison against Poly's renderings. :D
