ktc
hi If any solution for my problem... cutout an image in AP but find that the layer mask appears differently in PS. The mask looks correct in PS Channel but no idea why some background still intact.
Staff MEB Posted February 18, 2019 Staff Share Posted February 18, 2019 Hi ktc, Welcome to Affinity Forums I believe we already have a similar issue logged. Do you mind uploading the .afphoto file using this link so we can take a look please? Thanks. Staff MEB Posted February 22, 2019 Staff Share Posted February 22, 2019 Hi ktc, Thanks for the file. I'm seeing the same issue here with various apps too. Have you used the option New layer with mask in the Output dropdown on the bottom of the Refine Selection dialog to generate the top layer with the mask? ktc
hi Yes I've checked the option for New layer with mask, curiously, this problem doesn't occur when I first tried AP in quite early day, no idea if this problem comes for PS or AP. Tried another image, same result... of course the cutout image works well within AP.
Staff MEB Posted February 25, 2019 Staff Share Posted February 25, 2019 Ok, thank you. I'm logging this to be looked at. Meanwhile, instead of picking New layer with mask, select Mask instead from the Output dropdown, then duplicate the original pixel layer (image) manually and nest the mask to the duplicate (dragging the mask layer over the thumbnail of the duplicated pixel layer). this should open correctly in Photoshop. Let me know how it goes. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference

MusingLounge
Hello. I am having a similar issue, but there was no photoshop file involved. I have already uploaded the files in the aforementioned drive.
Staff Gabe Posted January 30, 2020 Staff Share Posted January 30, 2020 Hi @MusingLounge, I don't see a problem in your attached image. This thread is about edge decontamination. Can you provide more details?
