walt.farrell
OK. I cannot confirm your problem. I've just dragged a couple of .jpg files from Explorer onto an open document in Photo .243 with no problems. Uwe367
I can´t confirm too. Drag and Drop like you do it works well. Perhaps a problem with Win 7? Walt and i are using Win 10.... Have a nice day. Ich wünsche einen schönen Tag.
DarkClown
I cross-checked again ... and indeed it does not crash with every picture. The problem seems to be related to the picture I drag onto the already open picture ... does not seem to have problems with other programs - but gets AP to crash ... I attached it here so you or a moderator may test it yourself 20190204_162641.zip i7-12700KF, 3.60 GHz, 32GB RAM, SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, Wacom Intuos 4 Tablet, Windows 11 Pro - AP, AD and APublisher V1 and V2https://www.timobierbaum.com

Ron P.
I can confirm too. Is it just this one image? I notice it's from a Samsung (smartphone)? Does it crash with other images from that same phone? I played around dragging images created using my cellphone (Motorola MotoZ), and didn't get any crashing. It is strange, the image can be saved over (re-written) and it no longer crashes AP. Affinity Photo 2.5..; Affinity Designer 2.5..; Affinity Publisher 2.5..; Affinity2 Beta versions. Frogger
I tried it a few jpgs by dragging and dropping into the beta 243 and don`t get a crash, but it did when I tried your image DarkClown . I also opened your image from the file menu and got a crash. I tried with the stable version (1.6.5.123) like UWe367 had done and it did not crash, then with stable version I exported and wrote over your photo and then dragged it back to the beta 243 and it did not crash then. DarkClown
Well, it might be related to some kind of JPG setting Samsung uses ... and when you open it with a different App and save it again obviously the according other jpg interpretation is written what causes less problems. Interestingly AP doesn't have that problem in the stable version. i7-12700KF, 3.60 GHz, 32GB RAM, SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, Wacom Intuos 4 Tablet, Windows 11 Pro - AP, AD and APublisher V1 and V2https://www.timobierbaum.com
Uwe367
Now i´m courious whats wrong with this image or what happens in AP Beta becaue it crashes with the attached file. Hope the Dev-Team find out whats up with it. The only difference i found out is that the attached file has a horizontal an vertical resolution of 150 dpi and the new file, which was saved from AP 1.6.5 has 72 dpi. But can that be the mistake? I don´t think so... Have a nice day. Ich wünsche einen schönen Tag.
walt.farrell
Running exiftool against DarkClown's file and against a version saved from Photo 1.6 shows some differences. Perhaps one of those differences is causing the issue with the beta, and will lead Serif to a solution for the problem DarkClown 1 -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
