evtonic3
What is the correct way to copy let's say, a shadow effect, from one object to another regardless of the size? I've heard and tried different things but I just CANNOT get this to work the way I think it should. If I have a 200px circle with a 10px shadow and I want to copy this 10px shadow to a 5000px object, what are the steps?
v_kyr
Try to select the source obj with the effect and perform a copy operation, afterwards select the destination obj and do a "Edit > Paste effect" (for styles use instead then "Edit > Paste style"). v_kyr
Seems to scale somehow with the obj size then, no matter if "scale with obj" is checked or not. Forgive me, can you explain if your comment is in agreement with my post or if you find the functionality satisfactory as is? Just to be sure I explained the pic better, I made the small object, applied the shadow, copied it, made the large object, did a paste effect and I got the whopping huge shadow expecting the smaller's shadow exactly. v_kyr
What I meant is that it's not the expected behavior here, the initial applied shadow sizes aren't kept for the destination object during the copy/paste procedure. So it went wrong during the operation in terms of shadow sizes. Also it doesn't matter if the scale with object check box is checked or not, it makes no difference for the different result here. evtonic3 1 Quote ☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan ☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.
Staff stokerg Posted February 15, 2019 Staff Share Posted February 15, 2019 Hi Evtonic3 and v_kyr, This is a known issue that is with development, where the 'scale with object' is being applied even when it's not enabled. evtonic3

Just for interest, will it be controlled the source or target choice 'scale with object'?
