[By Design] An annoying bug with boolean operation using open curve?.

Recommended Posts

I have encountered this annoying problem when I'm half through a large project where there are many boolean operations involved,  I'm forced to use coraldraw in the middle way because of this problem,  even to prepare the screen capture I had to use photoshop to apply different color...

The intension is to "slice a shape into several pieces using several paths and apply different color to different pieces"

or "cut a path and put something different below"

The program seems to force close an open curve during boolean operations.

You can only subtract closed curves. If you try to subtract an open curve it will first be closed for you, and then subtracted.

As @dutchshader has indicated, you need to expand the stroke (which will give you a closed curve of the desired shape).
