Staff MEB Posted February 14, 2019 Staff Share Posted February 14, 2019 Hi Laurence Svirchev, Welcome to Affinity Forums Currently only the latest Affinity Photo Customer Beta supports .CR3 files when using the Apple (Core Image RAW). The Serif Labs engine (available in both Designer and Photo) don't support it yet. Laurence Svirchev
Thank you. I am new to Affinity Photo, but I have downloaded the Beta. Affinity uses a different vocabulary than I am used to. I don't find "Core Image RAW." Can you lead me through how to open a CR3 on my mac? If I goto file open all the CR3 are grayed out. Sometimes the built-in auto-update feature doesn't pick them up right away - the current version as of this typing is .110: If you are on the latest beta, try dragging the file onto the dock icon of Affinity Photo to see if that works. Staff MEB Posted February 14, 2019 Staff Share Posted February 14, 2019 Hi Laurence Svirchev, Run the app, click the Assistant Options button in the main toolbar (looks like a black suit), click Develop Assistant button on the bottom left of on that window then change the RAW Engine in the first dropdown to Apple (Core Image RAW). Close the Assistant. Drag the CR3 file over the application main toolbar to open the files. I'm getting the same issue with the File ▸ Open command. I'm logging this to be looked at. Laurence Svirchev
Thanks,MEB. I had done all of what you suggested except the the drag & drop. That works. Thanks, as someone new to Affinity, I am grateful. Can't imagine such fast & solid support from Adobe with their subscription business model.
