276ccm
Very often when I'm opening the AD on my 2017 iMac, it asks if I want to restore.. I quit the program in the normal way, and I don't get any crash report.. I'm not sure if its a bug or what happens, but if I get the answer, I guess its because its crashing? Staff Lee D Posted February 14, 2019 Staff Share Posted February 14, 2019 Have you tried restoring the file, saving it with a new filename and then closing the app and reopening? If a crash has occurred you can check the following location to see if you have a crash report for the same date and time. macOS: Users/<USERNAME>/Library/Containers/com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner/Data/Library/Application Support/Crash Reporter Windows: %APPDATA%\Serif\Affinity Designer\1.0\CrashReports 276ccm
276ccm
The thing is, it happens with different files.. but only on my iMac. Using the same files on my MacBook Pro, it never happens.. (knock on wood) and there are no specific files. :-) And it’s strange, because I always save.. but I’ll look into the crash reports.. :-)
Staff Lee D Posted February 14, 2019 Staff Share Posted February 14, 2019 Also within the Application Support folder are Auto Save and Backup folders. It may be worth backing up/renaming them, then delete or move the contents to another location. 276ccm

A bit off topic but while I sometimes see some left over files in the "autosave" folder on my Mac that for one reason or another have not been removed when the app has quit normally, nothing ever has been written to the "backup" folder. According to Finder's Get Info for this folder it contains zero bytes, was created in March of 2016 on the same day as I installed version 1.4.1 of Affinity Designer, & has not been modified since then. So is this normal or something I should be concerned about?
