danilo
How can I turn my curve into a selection so that I can continue working with it? Or is this function not yet available?
smadell
With your Curve layer selected in the Layers panel, activate the Pen tool and you should see the “Selection” option in the Context toolbar. Choose this to turn your curve into a selection. (Be aware that you will no longer have the curve, itself; duplicate the curve to keep both the curve AND the selection.) danilo 1 Quote Affinity Photo 2, Affinity Publisher 2, Affinity Designer 2 (latest retail versions) - desktop & iPad Culling - FastRawViewer; Raw Developer - Capture One Pro; Asset Management - Photo Supreme Mac Studio with M2 Max (2023); 64 GB RAM; macOS 13 (Ventura); Mac Studio Display - iPad Air 4th Gen; iPadOS

smadell
My pleasure. Sometimes you have to know a feature is there in order to find it! v_kyr
Ctrl-Clicking on the curve layer icon in the layers panel will give you a selection of the curve, without loosing the curve layer! - For direct masking of an underlayed layer you can select the curve layer and perform a right click and select mask down from the right click menu. FWIW, this works in Affinity Designer, too, but you have to be in the Pixel Persona (If you switch back to work in the Draw Persona, the selection remains). JimmyJack
How to make a mask from a path (curve)? You don't have to turn it into a selection at all. Just give it a fill and drag it into the mask position. This way it keeps it's vector editablity. And you can use pixel based filters/FX on it too (rather than just things that only effect the alpha channel)!! Aija Papaija
