AP Windows 10 installation problem

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Just downloaded the trial version of Affinity Photo for Win 10 and it's not possible to install it.

The install start ok but at the end it says "configuration error" and the software is not installed.

Downloaded this version: affinity-photo-1.6.5.135.exe.

Thanks.

Hi ukelele,

Welcome to the forums :)

Sorry to hear you're having trouble, could you please confirm for me, are you running a 32bit or 64bit version of Windows? If you're unsure you can find out how to check here.

Could you also please confirm the hardware specs of your computer?

Please Note: I am now out of the office until Tuesday 2nd April on annual leave.

Thanks for confirming that, we've seen this error before when Windows requires (or is in the process of) updating. Could you please check your Windows 10 is up to date?

If this does not help, please follow the .NET fix as explained in the below post -

Rebooting before running the installer can also help.

Hey, thanks a lot!

Problem solved.

I found this error in the install log, in TEMP folder:

"The cabinet file 'Main.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and can not be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package".

Searched this "Main.cab" error and found this thread. Downloaded again AffinityPhoto and problem solved. It works OK.

Thanks!!
