Table Increments in picas

Recommended Posts

Using Picas, when increasing or decreasing Table Insets or Cell Width/Height/Insets, clicking the up and down arrows adjusts the amount by too large of an amount. For instance, clicking the up arrow increases the amount by a whole pica (1p) when it should really only increase by 1 point (p1). Switching to inches and it appears to work correctly, increasing by only .01 inches.

Suggestion: cell increments should increase by the smaller amounts

Try holding the CTRL key when using the arrows

I'm on a Mac, so CTRL doesn't do anything but the option key does. Anyway, it's still wrong. The option key does smaller increments but it's 1.2 point increments. It should be just an even 1 point, and by default without the Option key held down. Then the Option key can be to do the larger 1 pica increment.

The CTRL/Option key is always 1/10th the normal move distance and as there are 12 points in a pica then 1.2point increments are to be expected.  (I can't see the Devs changing the Option key to make the move larger)

There is a nudge distance modifier in preferences which can be set to 1point for transformations but it does not affect what you want to do.  (Not on Windows anyway)  Maybe the Devs could do something in there.
