smoothing refine edges problem

Hello, on PC, when I try to refine the edges of a selection to get a nice clean edge using the smooth function, it wants to remove the corners of the rectangluar shape (piece of art) I'm working on. How do I get a clean edge without loosing corners? thanks much

Not sure exactly what you are describing but if you use the Rectangular Marque Tool on a Pixel layer you do not need to click the Refine button, to get a "nice clean edge" just make your selection and use Layer > Duplicate to create a new layer with just your selected pixels in it.  (then hide the background layer)

Or, alternatively, after making your selection use Select > Invert Pixel Selection and hit the delete key

Also, make sure the Feather setting for the Rectangular Marque Tool is set to 0px when making your initial selection.
