shapes/curves... what to use?

Recommended Posts

Its AP! And maybe AD handle this better?

Sometimes i need special "open" shapes! Segment-shape could do, but maybe i´m too blind or this elementary feature is not available? I want "open" segment as usable (dynamically) shape. Am i too stupid for the "segment"-shape? Is there any hidden option in the segment shape, like do not show upper/lower OUTLINE? The whole "special-stunt" just need more than "hide" upper/lower outline! It would be so simple with just this small "extra"!!!

A (no-fill) segment with just an outline AND (= such an option to hide the upper/lower outline) would exactly do what i want. And it would be usable as dynamically tool. So, is there any option for this, or do i have to write a request, which like all my others, never get heard?

I guess i´m not to blind and this feature is not just hidden, its really not available. So what to do?

I want THE HALF of a rectangle ( circle just as outline, but "open" visible. I want keep the functionality from a shape, to easy synchrony all "edges", to transform and the ratio of the edges will synchronizes....... and so on.

Well i can "cut" my to any geometric shape and curve it to "open", but after this, this no shape anymore... its just a curve and i can not anymore so easy transform, with auto-synchronies the "borders/edges".

For example: A rectangle with "hart"-edges 25%. I just need the outline of the half rectangle. Its easy to cut this and so far so good. But its now a curve, and if want transform this "object" later i got problems to keep both "edges" proportional. Any good ideas for handle this now separate "edges" as "couple"? I canot use the shape-edges-dialog anymore and i can not  "move" precise anymore (well i can in xtra deep zooms with taking time..) ....  So whats your ideas to get this fast and easy?

Polygonius,

I'm having trouble understanding what you write. I'm sure its just a problem with word translation. For instance, "I want THE HALF of a rectangle ( circle just as outline, but "open" visible."  how does a half rectangle and a circle go together?

Are you trying to work w. parts of parametric shapes that do not have fills? If so, just manipulate the vector nodes.

Can you make a quick drawing of what you want, and post it?

So am I. A sketch or two might help make things clearer, with a few labels for the things you mentioned in the first post.

Sounds like Poly wants a rectangle version of the segment or pie shape but with another feature layer for turning off/hiding segments of the stroke.
