Official max number of Favorite Fonts

Recommended Posts

Hi there!

Just a quick question, as the title of the Topic says: what is the official max number of fonts to be included in the Favorites section, in Affinity?

I ask because when this feature was introduced, I had aroung 90 fonts listed in Favorites before noticing that you reach a point where adding a font will remove another from the list. Also, in the latest retail version, this behaviour happens but when I reach 60 fonts on the list. Maybe something changed between versions. :P

Best regards!

Hey Mithferion,

I lost count towards the end but it does seem to be about 90 that it began losing the first lot of fonts I'd set as a favourite. I can't really see why there is a limit to the favourites. I'm going to log this with the developers to see if we can have the cap removed. Unless it causes some issues, I don't see why they couldn't remove it.

Hello,

I see it has not yet been resolved - this issue in Affinity apps. Still, when I add new fonts to my favorites, I overwrite the original ones - the first ones I entered. Is it possible to solve this?

Best regards, Jakub

We have made fixes/improvements to the font UI in the latest Windows customer beta. Sorry this issue has taken so long to get resolved properly. If you would like to try these changes the beta software is available in the forum posts listed below.

The latest beta builds are downloadable from links at the top of each of these beta forum posts.

These betas install parallel, next to the release version (they do not overwrite your release) and so the fixes can be tried in the beta without affecting your normal workflow in the release version. #when using beta builds, please work on copies of your files, as 1.8.0 uses a more advanced version of the file format than 1.7.3

Once these programs have been through a full beta process the change will be released in a future free 1.8.0 update/patch to all customers.
