How to get rid of extra space?

Recommended Posts

when I am typing a text and want to go to the next line (with a hard return) than I get an extra white space/line which I do not want.

This is what I mean:

But I want this:

I can't find how to do.

Return indicates the end of a paragraph, as in all word-processing tools I've ever seen. And typically there's extra blank space after a paragraph to separate it from the next one.

It sounds like you want to use Shift+Return, to add a line break. (Also available via the Text menu using the Insert function.)

Alternatively you could change your paragraph definitions to suppress the extra space between paragraphs, but using a line break is the better approach.

Set up a paragraph Style with no space between, not before or after.

Styles are our friends.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.0 | Affinity Photo 2.4.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Thank you for your reaction. It works like a charm (as you knew, of course).

Is it possible to save the text style for use  an other time?

Couldn't find it  how to save for the next time in an other document.
