brightartkids
I was a CorelDRAW user and one of the features that was very handy was the option to click on an object then position where you needed a copy then right click and it pasted a copy there. Great feature that I miss. Old Bruce and Pšenda
Pšenda
Yes. Currently it is placed in the position of the original object, which is mostly unnecessary. If the object was inserted at the current cursor position, it would be much more useful. Old Bruce
Yes, current behaviour is foolish and adds unnecessary steps to the workflow. Fixx
You can make a copy of an object by option drag. No need for right clicking. It is better to have pasted copy positioned at original place. Often it is needed there. Place at mouse position is not going to be exact anyway. Place at center is not useful at all.
Pšenda
5 hours ago, Fixx said: It is better to have pasted copy positioned at original place. Often it is needed there. For this case, you can use copy/paste from the menu Edit, or use shortcut Ctrl+C/V, or Duplicate in Layers panel. The context menu should use the "context", and should therefore respect the position of the mouse cursor - towards which the context menu is invoked. 5 hours ago, Fixx said: Place at mouse position is not going to be exact anyway. Yes, maybe. But it is still better to fine-tune the target position, than moving the object across the document. Edited February 6, 2019 by Pšenda Add duplication in the Layers panel. Justyna
in many programs it is possible to paste in place and paste under the cursor. One option is default, the other option is available under the shortcut. I think I will satisfy everyone
