Old Bruce
Just guessing that it is an aspect ratio problem. Patrick C
If you are doing it in the export dialogue, there is a little lock icon between the width and the height fields. Try clicking on this lock so that there is no line connecting the height and width, then change the resolution. EDIT: Note that this will most likely skew or crop (I forget which is the default) your image. You should make sure that your canvas or artboard aspect ratio matches your export ratio. While @Dclone2's suggestion will give you the required dimensions, it will also stretch or shrink your image more in one dimension than the other. What to suggest will depend on the current dimensions of your image. You will need to make your images the correct aspect ratio before exporting them. Could you please tell us your current dimensions? John Quote Windows 10, Affinity Photo 1.10.5 Designer 1.10.5 and Publisher 1.10.5 (mainly Photo), now ex-Adobe CC CPU: AMD A6-3670. GaryC
Its 7953X5304 I tried clicking the lock locked and unlocked it makes the photo one long length unusable even tried switching dimensions. Where can I find the aspect ratio. I just go into file, export but I don't see anything asking for aspect ratio
GaryC
Just figured it out. I have to go into document resize and set it up there. Thanks all for the input.

It's more than that. 7953/5304 is approximately 1.499. You can't simply resize that to 800x600 because 800/600 is 1.333. And you can't simply resize it to 604x345 because 604/345 is 1.75. That means you will need to crop your original image to something with aspect ratio 1.333 and then resize to get 800x600. And you'll need to do a separate crop to a ratio of 1.75 to be able to resize to 604x345. GaryC
where would I find the aspect ratio in crop
walt.farrell
1 hour ago, GaryC said: where would I find the aspect ratio in crop I would recommend looking at some of the cropping tutorial videos, which you can find in the list here. However, for a quick idea: Start with your photo before resizing it. Or, a copy, for safety. Select the Crop Tool. For Mode, choose Custom Ratio For the one that needs to end up 800 by 600, put 800 in the box after the Mode, and 600 in the next one. This will give you a crop frame of the proper ratio. You will be able to drag the corner nodes to enlarge or shrink the crop, but it will always maintain that ratio. You can also slide the frame around by clicking in the middle with your mouse and dragging it. This will allow you to compose your final image. When you have the image composed as you want, click apply. Then resize to get it to the size in pixels that you want it to be. Repeat the above (starting with the original image or copy again) to compose your image with a ratio of 604 by 345, making the obvious changes in step 4.
