In Affinity Designer 1.x, not so much. Since it is fixed in version 2, I don't think you should expect fixes to version 1. What did you expect that person to do, writing about a long-standing problem before V2 was even released? Build a time machine? As for fixes in version 2, they also broke some fundamental functionality (at least on the Mac desktop), such as Add Geometry, which just deletes the layers now without combining the objects. The delete key is still present on your keyboard, of course. But it doesn't work in Designer V1. It does work on Designer 2, and that's what they were saying.
