Flyeralarm requires PDF/X-3:2002

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

Current beta supports only the more current Standard called:

PDF/X-3:2003

Flyeralarm, which is a very popular print products provider here in the German speaking part of Europe requires, or insists on:

PDF/X-3:2002

Would be extremly helpful, if you could add this Standard too in your options.

Cheers,

       axel

Use X-3 instead! Publisher exports X-3-PDFs without transparency. So you will not have any problems with Flyeralarm.

BTW: In a different thread I recommended, not to use Flyeralarm, because they want fonts being converted to vectors. That is more than a stupid idea nowadays, especially, because you are losing outline quality due to missing hinting informations (hints are striped by converting the font.

Hello @aav,

welcome to the forum.

I am a regular customer with Flyeralarm for several years, mainly posters and flyers but also large sized prints on PVC. Over the last 1 1/2 years I created several designs in Affinity Designer (not Publisher) that were printed at Flyeralarm. I submitted JPG files with no compression and the prints turned out very good every time.

Perhaps this is an option for you, too.

No, he is asking for X-2 support. X-3 is built in.

No, he is talking about the 2002 revision of PDF/X-3 instead of what Serif offers which is the 2003 revision of PDF/X-3.

PDF/X-2 was never released as far as I recall.
