Reset to what state (what values) would you imagine? When it comes to returning the latest changes / edits, just go back in history (see History or Undo).

Hi all,

Is there a way to reset the transform values of a layer?

Cheers,
Juan

Might you be looking for revert defaults button in the top toolbar? Select your item and click the button revert defaults to reset it. I haven't used it, I'm just assuming. Hopefully it works for you. If it doesn't, Ctrl+Z is always helpful :)

Object Defaults only affects the creation of new objects. It will not work as you suggest.

If you have an object selected, Revert Defaults will reset that object to its defaults. That still may not be what is wanted.

It resets the object to the current document defaults for stroke and fill attributes, artistic text attributes, and frame text attributes, depending on the type of object selected, but that does not affect an object's transform values.

Sorry for the late reply, thank you all for your input.

I mostly distort the pixel layer, rotate, skew and scale, so having a reset button will restore that layer to its original state.

The problem with this is that if I continue editing the picture and for some reason I need to reset one layer transformation this will revert all the work done.

I'm thinking on a Reset button in the Transform tab:

If possible mods could move this topic to feature request?

Cheers,
Juan

There is no problem copying the original object before editing.

Reset Width and Height to 0 px?!
It will not be very practical - such an object can not even be manipulated, and each time it will require setting to the correct values.
Neither the jump to 0, 0 will not be often usable.

Resetting would have been meaningful only if a specific value for each object could be set, to which the reset would then return.
Instead of one Reset button, two buttons/icons/shortcuts - Store values, Load values.

Copying the original layer means that the document is having extra layers that are redundant.

I didn't mean to reset to 0px, I meant to reset it to it's original size as long as we don't rasterize the layer of course.

Since AFAIK photo has non-destructive transformation the document knows what it was original resolution of the layer.
