Just downloaded trial version of FastRaw Viewer

I just downloaded the trial version of FastRaw Viewer and want to use it with Affinity Photo.  I saw a posting that said to do this I hae to set AP as an External Editor?  Also do I need to set up a shortcut that at the end the files I select are automatically loaded into AP?  If so how?  Thanks yes a Newbie here

a) Obviously it is a question (not a suggestion or request), so it would be better to put it in the correct thread/group - so someone can answer you at all.

b) Rather, it's question to completely different application (FastRAW). But find its setting is not a problem (first item):

In FastRawViewer, you can set Affinity Photo as an External Editor in the Preferences dialog:

You can add a keyboard shortcut by using the menu choice: File > Customize > Keyboard Shortcuts. Choose "External Editors" from the list on the left, and assign a shortcut, if you want.

Once you have a Raw file selected in FastRawViewer (remember, it must be selected, not just being viewed) you can pass that file to Affinity Photo:

Forgot to mention this...

As you probably know, Affinity Photo only handles 1 Raw file at a time. This is why I have left the "Supports Batch Processing" checkbox UN-checked in the Preferences dialog above. You cannot realistically choose multiple files in FastRawViewer and pass them all to Affinity Photo.

In my example, above, I have selected only a single Raw file and am about to open that file in AP. However, I also have a copy of DxO PhotoLab, which DOES support batch processing. I can choose multiple images in FastRawViewer, and then use the menu choise Select/Batch > Batch Run Program > [Name of Program], which will open and select multiple images in the batch-capable application I designate.

Actually, it can open multiple RAW files in Affinity Photo, each into the Develop Persona, but it does not open them very fast when you do that.

I meant opening multiple RAW files in Affinity Photo, not FastRawViewer ... but you probably already knew that.

You're wrong about that...It's the fastest raw viewer.....

I think that @R C-R is referring to Affinity not FastRaw Viewer.

Is it really "RAW" Viewer, or "Thumbnail" from RAW file Viewer?

I am using the FastStone Image Viewer, and it certainly does not develop the contents of the RAW file. But because thumbnail is quite large (1600x1200 in the 3720x2800 ORF), it looks like a RAW file content view.

FastStone Image Viewer is not the same as FastRawViewer.

So what exactly does this mean? How does 'converting' a RAW file differ from developing it? We know that different RAW developers produce different results, so what is it this app "sees"?
