It's a crucial factor because it won't be possible to edit the mockups anyhow or apply the designs on them.We recommend our clients to work with our mockups in Photoshop starting with the CS4 version or higher, so all the necessary layers are present and function properly. Therefore, please note, that we won't be able to help you with any design related problem if you decide to work with any other software except Photoshop. That's that cleared up. In case anyone else stumbled onto this conversation, AFFINITY PHOTO NOW SUPPORTS SMART OBJECTS... you just need to check the box in Preferences.
