Seneca
Since Master Pages in the document view, for all intents and purposes, are layers we should expect the same layer behaviour when applying a new master page to a spread. If I select the existing Master Layer and also choose Insert Behind the Selection option I should expect the additional Master Layer to be inserted behind the selected layer. However, that doesn't happen. All Master Layers are insert atop the existing one. This is a bug in my option. Insert Above and Insert Below the selection make sense. I'm not sure whether Insert Inside the selection makes sense in the context of Master Layers. A_B_C
Interesting point … through Insert Inside would have to be greyed out then, right? But how could that work? The application doesn’t know in advance whether you intend to apply a master or insert a shape or file. Hmm.

Well, the applications knows what it's about to happen because of the user selection. This whole area of Master Pages and layers is still under intense development, I suspect, and it may take some time for us to figure how best to deal with all that. 2017 27” iMac 4.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 • Radeon Pr 580 8GB • 64GB • Ventura 13.6.4. iPad Pro (10.5-inch) • 256GB • Version 16.
