Hello,

What happened to the feature on Ipad that color picker appears when I press the pen 2sec on the screen? :( It was really useful in my workflow for blending colours... How can I pick/blend colors in the easiest and most efficient way now?

Thanks, N.

Hi,

I don’t remember this being a gesture but you might have had the app longer and it was in a earlier version? Holding down for 2 seconds should bring up the: Deselect/Cut/Copy/Paste option. It is a gesture in Sketchbook pro, holding down and sampling a colour but the way to do it in Affinity, is to select the Colour picker tool from the tools sidebar or from the colour studio and drag it out to the area you want sample.

Hi, thanks for the reply!

Actually I was trying Affinity on iPad in the store (like a month ago) before I bought it, and then the picker was appearing instead this useless copy/paste menu I see now :( Must be some upadate I guess... Made me extremely sad, and I probably wouldn't buy it, if I only knew about this change, cause now it feels much less intuitive and so hard to use when I have to choose it from the toolbar... It's very important tool for me as I paint by blending colors and picking them all the time... Ugh. You say Autodesk Sketchbook works this way?

With the paintbrush tool selected please on hold your finger on the screen and you will get the colour picker as before

Sorry ladyboomboom, only just noticed, you tagged your post Photo, im using Designer. I assume this colour picker option with the brush selected only works in the Photo app? As I’m not getting it to happen in any of the persona’s in Designer.
