Brush tool in Affinity Designer

Hello, I apologize if this has been asked before, In affinity designer when I'm using the brush tool it always creates a new layer when i release the mouse key which is a bit of an annoyance. I wanted to ask if theres any way to change this so its always on the same layer similar to Illustrator.

With the Vector brush each stroke create a new curve layer, to use a single layer you will need to switch to the pixel persona and use the raster brush and this will use a single pixel layer for all brush strokes
