Hi there,

I am experiencing an issue with not being able to install Affinity Designer 1.6.5 properly in Windows 10 (1803). When I clicked on the installer, all I see is a blank title bar (see screenshot).

I suspect this has something to do with Windows 10 1830's hardware acceleration which I have fixed on a few other programs (Spotify, Snagit) by force disabling hardware acceleration. However, Affinity Designer is the first program I encounter this problem at the installation stage.

Appreciate some guidance!

Hi Wechia,

Welcome to the forums :)

If possible could you try the steps found in this thread?

Thanks

Hi Callum,

The previous moderator got it right - I am both on Windows 10 1803 and the Intel HD graphics chipset. However, I am very certain that all my drivers, including the Intel Display driver, has been updated. In fact, I got a program like Driver booster installed specifically because I went after drivers first.

Actually what I did for a few applications is that I force-disabled hardware acceleration. Some programs (like Spotify) has the option easily accessible via the menu. Others (like Snagit) required me to tinker with it in the registry. At least for these programs, I encounter the problem after I installed them, so I am able to troubleshoot it post-installation. My challenge with Affinity Designer is that this is a pre-installation problem (so no menu options nor registry keys for me to tinker with).

The moderator in the other thread mentioned "there is another way we can help get the application installed and running" but didn't specify the details. I would appreciate if you could help.

Cheers,

Wayne
