All Media Lab
Hi, In Photoshop I can do Edit > Transform > Scale to enlarge an image on a layer. How do I achieve the same in Affinity Photo? I understand that I can use "Place", but is there a similar way as in PS? Regards & Thanks, David
Staff Dan C Posted January 23, 2019 Staff Share Posted January 23, 2019 Hi David After placing the image, you can scale this using the move tool and manually dragging the handles on the sides/corners of the object, or alternatively you can change the size of the object using the transform panel and manually input sizes (or equations!) to resize the object. I hope this helps! All Media Lab 1 Quote Please Note: I am now out of the office until Tuesday 2nd April on annual leave. All Media Lab
Thanks Dan, Are placed images a kind of vector/linear space? I don't see any artifacts when scaling up or down! Because I noticed that I had to rasterize the placed image to be able to apply an effect to it? Regards, David
Staff Dan C Posted January 23, 2019 Staff Share Posted January 23, 2019 Placed images are embedded documents so are essentially documents within a container on your canvas, scaling this embedded image in your document shouldn't create any artifacts so I'm glad to hear this! Certain effects or tools only work on Pixel layers within a document, the embedded Image layer cannot have these effects applied, hence they require rasterisation Quote Please Note: I am now out of the office until Tuesday 2nd April on annual leave.
