Naiomi Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 Hi all, So I’m currently using Affinity Designer on the iPad and it’s been great but I’ve recently had some issues with the Boolean operations.. eg. I’m trying to add some paths that were originally brush strokes, so I outlined them to create closed shapes and I now want to add them together. But for some reason when I select them all and ‘add’ most of them function as expected but other bits are actually subtracted? I have no idea why it’s doing this, any help would be greatly appreciated. I’ve attached images which hopefully communicate what I mean. < before adding < after adding Thanks! Quote

Thanks C Hi Callum, And thank you for the welcome! I’ve just attached the file I mentioned (although I deleted a lot of the other lines to simplify it) I’ve also just separated it into groups to imitate what my process was, so let me know if this makes sense. Paul Mudditt Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 Ok don’t know why it happens, but I think I’ve found a really stupid fix. Select everything, use the transform mirror, then add everything together then use transform mirror to reverse the original mirror. I also found that slight movements to certain nodes in the affected shapes also worked, Definitely a maths bug for developers to look at. DM1 Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 There is an issue with that particular lash. Duplicate it twice, move away and try to add the two copies. You will see what I mean. Maybe mods can tell if it is an issue with type of nodes. I recall certain node type not working properly with Boolean opsfrom one of my earlier queries. Might have been a smart node.
