Hi

I am using affinity designer on files that will be sent to a laser cutter. I usually cut on a 3mm board. I am using designs obtained online that I will then cut. The problem is that the dimensions are all off. As seen in the attached image, the protruding part needs to be 3mm so that it can allign with the 3mm board when the 3d object is built.  My current technique is me drawing a rectangle and stretching it out to 3mm and then manually dragging the main object to match up the size which is cumbersome and not 100% accurate

is there any easier way to achieve this?

please note that all files are obtained legally...a link is provided for those who wish to confirm that I am allowed to share the files as well as for others to use

Thanks

(note that I use Mac and iOS so both platforms will be of great help)

Hi Irfaan :)

You could create a grid of 3mm divisions and turn on Snap to Grid in Snapping Options. Now you can create your design along said grid, so that it is accurate enough for cutting. I hope this helps!
