Thane5 Posted April 21, 2024 Posted April 21, 2024 I also just tried the workaround with "alpha layer on top set to erase", and was a quite confused why it wouldnt work with my pixel layer at first. Turns out i had to lower the left end of the "Source layer range" down just a bit, or else the hidden pixels would be gone still. Aufzeichnung 2024-04-21 172132.mp4 Quote
Zack Black Posted April 21, 2024 Posted April 21, 2024 I get that Affinity is a "photo editor" and not aimed at game developers - but if you really want to take a bite out of Photoshop's market, then you have to take these requests seriously and and start putting in some quality-of-life features for devs. I love that I'm not paying a monthly sub for Adobe anymore - but my god - I do curse a lot using Affinity photo. There are so many things that are great about it - but so many awkward ones as well. It's definitely a love/hate relationship and I'm always on the lookout for something for dev-friendly. 😕 myclay, Robbin, Westerwälder and 4 others 5 1 1 Quote
SkyArcher Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 Happy to see I was not the only one going mad for simply wanting to use the Alpha layer just like any other layer. This is mind boggling crazy. Happy to have moved from PS but please fix this. This cannot be called a feature or a choice in the state it is. Efvee and GabF 2 Quote
Mickmeister Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 Add me to the chorus of potential users who would like to see alpha editing functionality that's similar to Photoshop. Keep in mind that alpha editing is not only specific to the games industry; I've also worked in other industries where this is an essential feature - courtroom presentations, military training, trade show & architectural pre-viz, and many others. It looks like a great program and I'd like to make the switch from Photoshop, but I'm very hesitant because of this one limitation. Quote
Tupaia Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 I, too, just stumbled across the fact that APhoto cannot simply export a TGA with an alpha channel that leaves the color channels intact. Please add a way to save TGA and TIFF with a spare channel as alpha, this should do. Thanks! Quote
IllTemperedTuna Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Bought this program specifically to edit textures for game projects and can't do d*ck with it because adjusting alphas seems to be utterly impossible. Just squandered an hour of time trying to get this crap working. Quote
