kingofholetown
I have Designer 1.6.1 running on my Macbook Pro and since I updated it I cannot get any of the text windows (Show Character, Show Paragraph) etc to come up. In fact the only way to access any text commands is by the contextual menu, but that does not have all the control that was available in the windows before. Even the fill feature on the menu bar does not work as before as there isn't the facility to create graduated fills there anymore. There may be other things that changed or are missing What's wrong? How can I correct this? Best Wayne
walt.farrell
Assuming that by "Show Character" and "Show Paragraph" you mean View > Studio > Character (or Paragraph) and that you're not seeing the Character or Paragraph panels in the Studio afterwards, first make sure that you haven't selected View > Studio > Hide Studio. If you have, then uncheck that option. Beyond that, you could try View > Studio > Reset Studio. Staff Dan C Posted January 15, 2019 Staff Share Posted January 15, 2019 Hi kingofholetown, Welcome to the forums If the above suggested does not work for you, then resetting Affinity to default settings may help. You can reset your app back to its default settings by holding down the CTRL key while launching the app. When the Clear User Data window appears, click Select All and then Clear. The app will now open. Be aware that resetting your app back to its default settings will lose any custom settings such as keyboard shortcuts and brushes etc. To backup such settings before resetting the app, please watch our Affinity - Exporting User Settings and Keyboard Shortcuts video. https://vimeo.com/189596577 Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible. Many thanks! kingofholetown
Thanks Walt, thanks Dan The resetting of the defaults (CTRL on startup) seems to have worked as I now have the floating palettes back as before. Not sure why they would have disappeared in the first place. Fortunately I did not have any custom tools etc so losing them was not a problem.
