Steel Rat Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Hello All, I've been playing around with the cog tool, and I'm trying to figure out a way to create a cog with the teeth on the inside. Anything obvious I might be missing? Quote
v_kyr Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 No, AFAIK you have to construct your own (cog + donat or the like). Quote ☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan ☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.2
Steel Rat Posted January 12, 2019 Author Posted January 12, 2019 Thanks for the reply. Any idea how one would do that? Quote

You could play around with a cog and a donut as @v_kyr suggests. See the attached file cognut.afdesign Quote Windows PCs. Photo and Designer, latest non-beta versions.
Staff Gabe Posted January 12, 2019 Staff Posted January 12, 2019 Hi all, You can also create a compound with "Subtract". To create a Compound: Select multiple objects. Do one of the following: From the Layer menu, select Create Compound. Hold down the ALT key and, on the Toolbar, select Add, Subtract, Intersect or Combine. To change the compound mode of individual objects: In the Layers panel, click the object's compound mode icon. Select a compound mode from the pop-up menu. To add an object to a Compound: In the Layers panel, drag the object on top of the compound object. The object is included in the Compound using the default Add mode. To remove an object from a Compound: In the Layers panel, drag the object from inside the compound object to a layer. To break up a Compound: Select the Compound. From the Layer menu, select Release Compound. Compound.afdesign Quote

toltec Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 I'm just not geared up to answer those types of question. Quote Windows PCs. Photo and Designer, latest non-beta versions.
Steel Rat Posted January 12, 2019 Author Posted January 12, 2019 I'm sensing come cognitive dissonance. But seriously folks. Thanks for the suggestions. I should have mentioned that i' using Affinity Photo, don't have designer. So I don't have the Compound option on the Layer menu. I think to Cog and donut combo will work, though. Just need to figure out how to combine them so they share styles and such. Quote
