Apple Pencil lag when editing points in Affinity Designer

Recommended Posts

As the title says, there is a significant lag or pause when I try to move points of a shape with my Apple Pencil. I guess the lag is also there when dragging with my finger, but it’s less visible.

The points only move when I drag them for more than around 5mm on the screen.

I am using the new IPad Pro 11“ and Affinity Designer Version 1.6.4.45.

Here is a screen recording.

In my opinion this makes it impossible to work precisely...

Hi. It’s been a while and the issue still exists with no news... Do you know when the lag issue will be addressed?

I’m also having this node lag issue on my iPad Pro, and have always had it with Designer on iPad. I draw natively in vector nodes so this has me using other apps (Vectornator, Graphic) until it’s solved. It’s only an issue for AD’s app, which is disappointing as I’d love to use it otherwise.

Version 1.7 of Affinity Photo for iPad has just been made available for beta testing. I wouldn’t be surprised if Affinity Designer for iPad follows suit quite soon.
