Export JPG end up with wrong dimension

Recommended Posts

Hello Designers,

I'm facing exporting file issue. At first, I want to save as PDF, but suddenly it stuck after running a few seconds later (3 days ago still successfully exported to PDF in different artwork).  The artwork is a label which is 31.5cm x 14cm(by checking from Transform shown W, H when selecting the label outline)  but when I saved as JPG, it ends up with 30cmx13cm (checking with hardcopy - print as a sample). Is Affinity Designer Jpg will auto reduce the artwork or I am setting in the wrong way?

Can anyone help me how to solve this? It's quite frustrating for the accuracy of the size. PDF also one of the issue. Needed for output the file as final artwork.

Hi @Vilian,

When you export to a raster format, it's important to keep your document size and position to integer values. Go to File > Document setup and change the document units to Pixels. Select the artboard in question (If you don't have an artboard, just insert one the size of your document) and check the transform studio. You should only have integer values for Position(x, y) and Size(w, h). Having non-integer values will round up to the nearest integer value.

Thanks,
Gabe.

Doesn't that simply result in an export that is perhaps 1px larger than expected?

How would it explain @Vilian's files ending up 1 to 1.5 cm smaller?
