The issue was resolved when I was told of the scroll bar on the More … section of the scroll panel. The fact that I have Affinity Publisher set in the light grey mode rather than the black mode might be relevant to why I had the problem. I write to ask if you could please consider making that panel larger or wider or both larger and wider so that a scroll bar is not needed? I consider that doing that would make the program easier to use, not only for beginners.
