Mollyc
Hello. I have Affinity Designer on the Mac and the iPad. On the Mac I have Vector brush tool/brushes/assorted-textured-Image-basic. But on the iPad I only have Vector brush tool/brushes/Pens-chalks and pastels-acrylics-watercolours and gouaches. Please tell me where the Image brushes are. Thank you. Staff MEB Posted January 9, 2019 Staff Share Posted January 9, 2019 Hi Mollyc, Welcome to Affinity Forums The brushes that come with the iPad version are now the same as the upcoming Affinity Designer 1.7 (currently in Customer Beta - which you can get from here in case you are willing to give it a try) - the previous categories distributed with Designer 1.6 Mac were removed. I don't know if there will be changes here for the final release, but after 1.7 release you should be able to import/export/exchange brushes between the two versions. You may try export these brushes now from the current 1.6 version and import on iPad but I can't guarantee it will work because there was changes/updates to our brushes file format/iPad version recently. R C-R
Maybe I have misunderstood something about 1.6 compatibility or something, but to add (for instance) the Mac 1.6 Image brushes to the 1.6 iPad app, I did the following: Export the Mac 1.6 Image brushes to a folder on my iCloud Drive On the iPad, tap the 3 line menu on the brushes studio & tap "Import Brushes..." Navigate to the iCloud Drive folder from step 1 If needed tap the cloud symbol next to the Image item in that folder to download it to the iPad, otherwise just tap it to import that category The imported brushes work fine on the iPad. Staff MEB Posted January 9, 2019 Staff Share Posted January 9, 2019 Yes, it should work but I haven't tested it myself and there was a recent update to the iPad that may have or not affected this thus my suggestion to try it. R C-R
So far so good here, using iPad version 1.6.4.45, which I believe is the latest version. (That reminded me to update my sig with current iPad version numbers, now done.)
