In Designer (and Photo for that matter), I think it would be quite easy to Invert the PNG then Rasterize to Mask.

Oh, well done! B|

For some strange reason I keep forgetting about ‘Rasterize to Mask’. :o

What exactly is Rasterize?

Rasterize = convert to a bitmap representation = make pixels out of it (instead of vectors)

☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.2

‘Rasterize’ and ‘Rasterize to Mask’ are separate commands. The former simply converts the selected layer to a collection of pixels, whereas the latter not only converts the selected layer but also applies it as an opacity mask so that the target layer is 100% opaque where the mask is white and 0% opaque — i.e. 100% transparent — where the mask is black.
