PDF Import –> PDF from customers with embedded font

Recommended Posts

Place PDF file with embedded fonts in Affinity Publisher.
Hello, I have done extensive testing with the current beta. Unfortunately it is the case that with placed PDF files the embedded fonts contain no PDF file. Even if the missing font is replaced by another one, the program crashes during PDF export. Unfortunately, it is the same with all programs. Designer, Photo and Publisher.

In Page Plus, Indesign, Quark this works without problems.

This is normal.

This is bad.

My (possibly incorrect) understanding is that currently placed PDF files are imported as if editable, which would cause licensing issues if this was done with embedded font support (the idea behind the way most fonts are licensed to allow embedding is that when they are embedded they cannot be used if editing the document).

Here in everyday example. This ad placed in the attachment contains a customer's note which may not be replaced. Here is also a grayscale image placed, this we have unfortunately converted to CMYK.
Also the colors red magenta 100% and yellow 100% were replaced by magenta 100% and yellow 96%. For layout tasks it is absolutely necessary to integrate PDF files correctly.
