Derek514 Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 Hello, I’m extremely new to graphic design software. I print and heat press t shirts but normally work through a supplier. I am setting up to do it on my own. I would like to know the best method to go about putting multiple images on one page (example 8.5X11) as to not waste transfer paper. I can’t seem to get more than one image on the screen. These images are all different print sizes I have the designs and images prepared in proper file formats. Ultimately I would like to be able to resize them on one page and print. I have attached a photo of what I am looking to do (I did not prepare this document) what’s the best file to import for this purpose? PNG? Remember I am very new to all this so any and all advice is welcome. I’ve sat down and watched video after video and played around and can’t seem to grasp it. Thanks in advance, Quote
v_kyr Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 Welcome to the forum, take a look at this tutorial video here. In order to add multiple images into a document use the "File -> Place ..." menu command. Derek514 Posted January 3, 2019 Author Posted January 3, 2019 Thank you. I finally figured that part out and actually found that video and it clarified a lot. Thank you for your reply. Can you let me know where I can find the mirror option to reverse images? Thank you! Quote
v_kyr Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 See the "Document -> Mirror horz/vert" menu entries. Quote ☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan ☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.2
Derek514 Posted January 3, 2019 Author Posted January 3, 2019 Perfect. I will test it out. Last question, when importing photos what is the best image type to import for my purposes of shirt printing? I have my designs saved in multiple formats but I want to make sure to retain the quality of the image. Once I import it, is there a way to ensure the image is as high as a resolution and DPI as possible? Thanks! Quote
v_kyr Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 Well depends on the resolution and image format which are technically/physically used for such T-Shirt printings by the supplier. Also if transparency plays a role or not. Usually I would say the higher the resolution the more secure you are when importing and working with the images. The formats TIFF/PNG/JPG are common for bitmap formats here. See also: Understanding DPI.
