barrys Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 I have some 72dpi images I want to use in a presentation using an Epson projector. I want to be sure the images will be clear when projected onto a full size screen. Are there procedures in Affinity Photo for Mac that will accomplish that for me? Quote
R C-R Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 The dpi won't matter for this. Just make sure the number of pixels in the image is a good fit to the resolution of the projector. barrys Posted January 2, 2019 Author Posted January 2, 2019 What would constitute a good fit? Is there a mathematical relationship between the resolution and the number of pixels? Quote
R C-R Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 Digital video projectors have a 'native' resolution of so many pixels wide by so many tall, like 1920 px × 1080 px for the 1080p HDTV "Full HD" mode. You did not say which Epson projector you will use, but if you know the model number there should be specs for that somewhere you can find on the web. So ideally, find out the pixel resolution of that projector & set up your images to use that same resolution. However, there is more to it than that. Many digital video projectors support different resolutions for still images than for videos, & whatever software you are using to run the projector or the projector itself may convert (interpolate) the resolution on-the-fly to fit the projected display. So without knowing a lot more about your setup, there is no one answer that will be the best one for you. barrys Posted January 2, 2019 Author Posted January 2, 2019 Thank you very much for the useful information. It gives me a place to start. I'll do some research. If I get to a place where I have additional questions I know where to ask. Quote
