Hi All

New to this forum and product. like it a lot but after a lot of digging I can't find how to close the adjustment box once I have carried out a change. for example when in the photo persona ,if I change the levels in adjustments and then try to close the box it poped up, all there is is a x in the right hand top corner to do so. I was watching a AP video to see how to carry out the changes outlined and in the pop up box and in the video there were three buttons in the top left of the adjustment pop up and it looked like the user selected the red leftmost botton to minimise the box back into the program.

When I close the pop up using the x it shuts fine but as soon as I click on levels again to open the adjustment pop up, the previously adjusted sliders revert back to the non adjusted position they were before i changed them. Is this something that is different in window and mac versions or is it something I need to do to keep the adjustments from re setting once I go back into the dialogue

Running AP on windows 8  I5processor   8Gb ram version of software is 1.6.5.135

many thanks in advance  Tony

The current Affinity Photo version on Windows is 1.6.5.123
Clicking on the x in the right hand top corner should close the dialog box.
To do further edit, double click on the adjustments layer's thumbnail

Or 1.6.5.135, depending on your source for the program and when you installed it. Both are functionally equivalent in terms of the actual editing capabilities.

As @HVDB Photography mentioned, the red button in the videos is the Mac equivalent of the Windows X button that closes a window. In some of the videos, like slightly past the 1:01 mark in this one, if you watch carefully, you can see an X appear (very!) briefly inside the red button when the pointer is over it, just before it is clicked to close (not minimize) the live filter window, like in this enlarged view:

Hello all

Thanks for the replies, that has straightened out the issue for me. I also realised that I was inadvertantly opening a new layer by clicking on the leftmost option in the menu and therefore every time I opened it the pop up was set at zero before I was going to adjust it. Once I opened the layer tab I could then see a number of additional unused layers I had mistakenly opened.

All part of the fun of learning and I must say the program seems to be very good. I am by no way an expert but it does do some very nice edits and alterations.

many thank to you all and happy new year.

Regards T
