gskidmark
How can I add a stroke to text without the weird corners? See the below attachment that shows how Affinity Designer is handling stroked text compared to Illustrator. Is there a setting somewhere that can change stroke settings so it is handled more like Illustrator?
MikeW
This likely has to do with the stroke corner options. Probably it is set to a Bevel Join instead of Miter.
gskidmark
I think I just found the setting. I changed Miter to 2 and things are looking much better. I don't know what Miter is but it did the trick.

Miter: Sets the length of the extension of Miter joins to create either sharp or flat corners. gskidmark 1 Quote iMac 27" 2019 Somona 14.3.1, iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more... It should really say ‘Miter/Mitre Limit’. That aside, there’s a great explanation here: gskidmark 1 Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.4.1 (iPad 7th gen)
firstdefence
Yup Mitre is the how I would spell it, I think it was a typo in the manual I copied from. I also think the default setting should be more like 3 Quote iMac 27" 2019 Somona 14.3.1, iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more... What I was actually trying to say is that the label for that control should really include the word ‘Limit’.
