Scott Williams
In the fill dialog Edit->Fill, I can check the history option. It seems to use the history to perform the fill in some way. Does anyone know exactly what it is supposed to be doing? Cheers. Scott.
Staff Lee D Posted December 17, 2018 Staff Share Posted December 17, 2018 By clicking the small camera icon next to a step on the History panel. The option on the Fill will then reference the step in the History.

Are there any examples of what it could be used for?
walt.farrell
Here's one usage, derived from a bit of experimenting. If you have previously used Edit > Fill... and you select the camera icon next to the History entry for that operation, and do another Edit > Fill... specifying History, you will reuse the color from that prior step. However, it appears that you have to click the camera icon before selecting the History option. (Or, to make a change, you have to select a different option such as InPainting, then select a different camera icon, and then reselect the History option.) That makes it somewhat harder to find the right step within the History, especially as the History panel doesn't display any details of what was really done. After further testing I have sussed it. It will grab it's fill information from the image as it would be at that point in the history. Cheers.
