elboy84 Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 I need to make a traceable vector graphic from png, for blender. I just converted the png in affinity photo then I tried the same in designer. Now I have the file in correct form, but still can't use in Blender because the SVG it created is not traceable, like this. any idea from someone? Quote
Staff Lee D Posted December 14, 2018 Staff Posted December 14, 2018 I've just replied to your tweet, we don't have an auto trace feature available, it's been requested and is on our development roadmap. Quote
Staff MEB Posted December 14, 2018 Staff Posted December 14, 2018 Hi elboy84, Welcome to Affinity Forums Saving a file/image in SVG format will not turn it into vectors (which is what I believe you are trying to do). The image must be first converted into paths/shapes using an auto-trace functionality. Currently Affinity doesn't have/offer this functionality as Lee said so the only way to do this here is recreating/tracing the image manually with the Pen Tool/shapes tools. Inkscape (open-source) does have an auto-trace feature in case you want to try it. There's also third party apps (Image Vectorizer, Vector Magic, Super Vectorizer 2 to mention a few) and online services that do/offer this functionality (auto-trace).
