Staff Chris B Posted December 13, 2018 Staff Posted December 13, 2018 This is usually caused by a temp folder. There's an interesting discussion here if you have a spare 5 mins:https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/50438-how-to-close-designer/ Close the app down and go to the below location and delete anything in the temp folder: C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Affinity\Photo\1.0 (Beta)\temp\ How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
Mark Ingram Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 We need steps to reproduce to get into this situation. We thought we'd fixed this, so we need to get this sorted during the beta phase.
Staff Sean P Posted December 13, 2018 Staff Posted December 13, 2018 It is also worth bearing in mind that there is a known issue (fixed in the next build) that using Edit in Designer/Photo will cause this to appear. Had you previously done this? Rick G and Mark Ingram 2

I had designer open once. I did have a photo crash and that exiftool.exe is all over the temp folder (is that even related?) I have added that path to my nightly :flush" batch. It was empty now though Thanks Affinity Designer 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Affinity Photo 2.2.2075 beta 2.3.1.2212Affinity Publisher 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2 OS build 22621.1928 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

There were no steps other than it popped as I was shutting the program down and I could not get out of it other than via task manager. There were no files loaded or AFAIK loading. The solution might be to add a "Close Anyway?> button to bypass whatever it is supposed to be doing and allow the shutdown Affinity Designer 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Affinity Photo 2.2.2075 beta 2.3.1.2212Affinity Publisher 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2 OS build 22621.1928 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Staff Sean P Posted December 13, 2018 Staff Posted December 13, 2018 Rick looking at your other posts today it looks like you've been using the Edit In Photo/Designer options. Can you confirm that when the application refuses to close down it was opened via this method? As my above posts state, this is a known issue that is with development to be fixed. Rick G 1

After reading in the Designer beta forum ... the only thing I did differently was to try to load something into photo from designer and apparently that is the known issue Issue then is identified Mark Ingram 1 Affinity Designer 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Affinity Photo 2.2.2075 beta 2.3.1.2212Affinity Publisher 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2 OS build 22621.1928 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
