ICC colour profiles

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

FYI, I discovered where the ICC colour profiles are stored:

C:\Program Files\Affinity\Publisher Public Beta\Resources\icc

It is possible to copy your ICC profiles (as received from your printer, for example) into this folder.

Affinity, maybe this could be documented in the help file, or made easier by allowing people to add their profiles when selecting?

Thanks :)

Nice that this is working.

Rather than document it a real import for ICC profiles in user space would make more sense as not everybody is a local admin to change the system.

However: How is soft proof meant to be done? I tried it with PDF exports, but since I don't have a good tool it's cumbersome to do so. I would Publisher expect to have a soft proof functionality on board where I can press and holding a key down to see the colors with another ICC profile. So I would know where I have to change things.

Actually you have two quite convenient options to choose from.

1. Right click on your downloaded ICC profile and it says 'Install Profile'  this should go staright to the correct folder automatically on win 10.

2. Manually go to Windows > System32 > spool > drivers > colour and there you will find all the ICC profiles.

In both cases Affinity products will recognise these new profiles and they will be automatically listed in that particular software.

Microsoft - Like entering your home and opening the stainless steel kitchen door, with a Popup: 'Do you really want to open this door'? Then looking for the dishwasher and finding it stored in the living room where you have to download a water supply from the app store, then you have to buy microsoft compliant soap, remove the carpet only to be told that it is glued to the floor.. Don't forget to make multiple copies of your front door key and post them to all who demand access to all the doors inside your home including the windows and outside shed.

Apple - Like entering your home and opening the oak framed Kitchen door and finding the dishwasher right in front you ready to be switched on, soap supplied, and water that comes through a water softener.  Ah the front door key is yours and it only needs to open the front door.
